Imagine a brand-new carpet. Freshly purchased from one of the popular retail chains in Poland. Synthetic, measuring around 160 × 200 cm, which is a typical 3.6 m². It goes into the dining room, under the table, in the home of a classic family: parents, two children, and a dog or cat.
At first, it looks perfect. Soft, clean, smelling new. Nothing suggests what will start happening inside it from the very first days of use.
Because from the very beginning, the carpet starts working like a filter.
Every day, airborne dust settles on it. Tiny grains of sand brought in on shoes. Food scraps falling from the table, breadcrumbs, pieces of vegetables, pasta, sauces, drinks. Hair, dog fur, as well as human skin cells, which each of us sheds every day — supposedly even as much as a kilogram per year.
All of this does not disappear. All of this stays in the carpet.
Over time, more layers of dirt and contamination appear. Dust mites enter the scene — microscopic organisms that feed on exactly what is found in the carpet. Their presence is one thing, but the bigger problem is their droppings, which are strong allergens. On top of that, there is something invisible and rarely thought about: cooking fumes. If the carpet is located in the dining room, very often adjacent to the kitchen, microscopic particles of fat and oil floating in the air during frying and cooking settle on it every day. Steam carries tiny particles that, over time, settle deep inside the pile structure. The carpet starts to “absorb” odors.
Another issue is contamination from outside. Brought in on shoes: mud, dust, road dirt, asphalt residue. But also everything that a pet brings into the home. Because you have no full control over where your dog walks during a walk and what it brings back on its paws and fur. Then there are factors you have absolutely no influence over. Airing the apartment means that plant pollen, outdoor dust, and in many cases also pollution from chimneys and street traffic get inside. Sometimes more difficult situations occur: accidental stains from liquids, or even urine and other bodily fluids, both from animals and people. These are things that very easily penetrate deep into the carpet and are practically impossible to remove using home methods. And now the most important part.
All of this does not happen in one day. It is a process.
Months pass, then a year, then two. In most Polish homes, the floor around the carpet is washed regularly, often once a week. Curtains are washed every few months, most often around holidays and window cleaning. And the carpet?
Most often, it is only vacuumed. And even that is not always done thoroughly, only “roughly,” to remove what can be seen from a height of 160–180 cm. In other words, surface dirt. What is deeper remains in the carpet. After two or three years, something starts to change. An unpleasant smell appears in the home. It is difficult to clearly locate it, but over time it turns out that its source is the carpet. And that is when the decision appears that something needs to be done about it.
The simplest solution? Maybe throw it away and buy a new one. But why? After all, it is not damaged, only dirty. Nobody throws away jackets, shoes, or curtains just because they are dirty, do they?

The next stage is a suction system, a powerful industrial vacuum equipped with six suction nozzles, which extracts leftover water, dirt, and cleaning agents from the carpet. Then a roller brush combs the pile, and the carpet is rolled up. After that, it goes into a centrifuge, where, at around 1300 revolutions per minute, even up to 95% of the water is removed. Finally, drying takes place in a special drying room, under controlled conditions, where the carpet is thoroughly and safely dried in a vertical position. After drying, it undergoes another quality inspection, is rolled up, packed, and prepared for transport. The dispatcher sends an SMS with information about readiness, price, and the proposed delivery date.
The finished carpet returns to the customer’s home. If requested, it is laid out on site and the final result is presented.
