What does carpet ozonation involve?
Ozonation is the most effective and safest method of carrying out carpet disinfection, as it does not require the use of bactericidal agents. Ozone is a strongly oxidizing gas that guarantees microbiological cleanliness and sterility, creating an environment free from unpleasant odors and health-threatening microorganisms such as mold spores, fungi, and viruses.
How is carpet ozonation performed?
Ozonation is performed using an OZONE GENERATOR, which produces ozone gas O3. After going through the entire washing process, the carpet is placed vertically in the drying room and, once completely dry, it is then ozonated. An industrial ozonator, properly selected for the size of the room, is switched on for 30 minutes to generate the desired gas concentration. Thanks to the vertical position of the carpet, the gas penetrates both the entire pile and the warp of the carpet, which guarantees 100% effectiveness.
Ozonation and COVID-19 coronavirus?
We believe that ozone neutralizes coronavirus, but as a reliable and responsible company, we cannot guarantee this because we have not found any official studies that would confirm it. The World Health Organization recommends alcohol-based preparations with a concentration of around 70% for full disinfection, but does not mention ozonation. However, opinions in the scientific community are divided. Some researchers claim that it works, while others claim the opposite, stating that ozonation is effective only for disinfection after quarantine, in order to purify the air.
The good news, however, is that deep carpet washing “through and through” in a water bath using soap-based chemical agents, lasting at least 30 minutes (see video), already causes viruses to be eliminated. This is similar to washing hands, which usually takes no longer than 30 seconds and is recommended as an effective way to fight coronavirus. That is why, during the PANDEMIC, our company performs ozonation of all carpets FREE OF CHARGE!
Who do we recommend carpet ozonation for?
Ozonation is for everyone who cares about hygiene and health. However, it is especially recommended when:
- we have bought a used carpet from a stranger
- the carpet has an unpleasant smell of mold, burning, cigarette smoke, urine, feces, or vomit
- the carpet is also used by pets
- small children play on the carpet
Interesting fact!
Based on our observations, a carpet that has undergone the ozonation process is avoided by dogs even up to two weeks after ozonation. This probably happens because ozone is a harmful gas and is also produced during a lightning strike. That is why dogs instinctively avoid the threat. It is a great way to teach puppies not to relieve themselves on the carpet.
